Unlike most retailers who sell pre-built, factory-fitted whirlpool baths, every Luna Spas bath is hand-built to order in the UK. We source premium bath shells from manufacturers like Carron, Riho, and Duravit, then fit our own bespoke hydrotherapy systems. This means you get a far superior build quality — whisper-quiet pumps, fully-draining pipework that eliminates stagnant water, and chrome jet covers as standard. Every bath comes with a 5-year guarantee.

A fully-draining system means that when you pull the plug, 100% of the water drains from the pipework — not just the bath itself. Cheaper whirlpool systems leave residual water sitting in the pipes between uses, which can breed bacteria and cause unpleasant odours. Jacuzzi is actually a brand name, not a type of bath. What most people call a "jacuzzi bath" is technically a whirlpool bath — a bathtub fitted with water jets and an air system for hydrotherapy massage. At Luna Spas, we hand-build whirlpool baths (also known as spa baths or jet baths) using premium shells from Carron, Riho, and Duravit with our own bespoke hydrotherapy systems.

Our Carron baths are available in Carronite™ — a premium, reinforced material developed by Carron Bathrooms in Scotland over 60 years of manufacturing. Carronite™ is stronger, warmer to the touch, and retains heat significantly longer than standard acrylic. Our Riho baths use Lucite® acrylic, which resists scratches and stains and provides a smooth, non-porous surface that's easy to clean. Modern whirlpool baths are far quieter than most people expect. Our pumps are specifically selected for low-noise operation — typically around 50–55 dB, which is roughly the same level as a quiet conversation. The pump sits underneath the bath and is cushioned with anti-vibration mounts. Many customers find the sound actually enhances relaxation.

This depends on the size of bath you choose. A standard single ended whirlpool bath (1700mm × 700mm) holds approximately 180–200 litres. We recommend a minimum 210-litre hot-water cylinder or a combi boiler with a flow rate of at least 12 litres per minute. For larger baths — particularly double ended or two person models — you may need a 250-litre cylinder or above.

A whirlpool bath can be installed by any competent plumber and electrician — you don't need a specialist. The plumbing connections are identical to a standard bath (hot, cold, waste). The only additional requirement is a fused spur electrical connection for the pump, which must be installed by a qualified electrician. We include full installation instructions with every bath. Whirlpool jets mix air with recirculated bath water and deliver targeted, deep-tissue massage through adjustable Flatline flush jets. Air spa jets push heated air through smaller jets in the base, creating thousands of tiny bubbles for a gentler, all-over effervescence. Our Relax system uses 16 whirlpool flush jets. The Wellness system combines 16 whirlpool jets with 12 air spa jets, plus chromotherapy lighting and ozone sanitisation. The Ultimate system adds magic micro-bubble technology with 20 whirlpool and 10 magic jets.

Yes. Our Easy Access range includes walk-in whirlpool baths and models with low-step entry, integrated grab rails, and wider rims. These baths are available with all three of our hydrotherapy systems. Many also qualify for VAT relief for customers with qualifying long-term conditions — saving you 20% on the total price.
