What should I be looking out for when buying an accessible bath?

Accessible bathrooms are set-up in a way that sometimes limits the amount of space in your bathroom.

Some considerations to help you find the right tub would include:

  • If you need a normal bath (170mm long) or possibly a compact bath someone would need to “sit up” in
  • If you need hand grips installed
  • If you are also installing a shower above the bath and would need a shower screen to avoid water on the floor

How long does it take to fill and empty a Bathe Easy Whirlpool bath?

Whirlpool baths like these will fill as normal on the basic models when inside and seated. If you were looking for the bath to fill up quicker, you might want to get a jet fill system installed that will see the jets also pump water in.

When it comes to finishing, these baths are designed with a twin waste, ensuring 40% quicker drainage than a single waste, for safety and peace of mind.

Do accessible baths get colder quicker?

No. These baths are covered in a lucite acrylic sheet and have an extra reinforcement layer which helps with heat retention. Some walk-in whirlpool baths also have the option of installing an inline heater. This is a heater that turns on when the bath is full and helps to keep the water at a constant temperature, helping you avoid having to sit and play about with the taps after a few minutes to get the water just how you like it.

Do I need to buy panels for these baths?

We will supply the front and end panel with the tub when you buy it, so no need to buy one individually.

Some tubs are labelled LH and RH. What does this mean?

LH and RH stands for left-handed and right-handed.

Depending on what side you need the accessible door to be on, you’ll have to choose the correct bath. You may need to take into consideration sink placement, for example, as you don’t want the door to be inaccessible.

What accessories can I get in a walk-in whirlpool bath?

You can customise your bathtub however you like. Some of the features you can have include:

  • Bluetooth speaker system
  • Directional jets
  • Power boost jets
  • LED Lights

We let you pick and choose the accessories you want so you can create the whirlpool bath you’re looking for.
