Types of Whirlpool Baths
At Luna Spas, we understand that finding your ideal whirlpool bath starts with understanding the different types of systems available. While the term "whirlpool bath" is often used broadly, there are distinct differences between water jet systems and air jet systems.
Water Jet Systems (Hydrotherapy)
Our water jet systems are designed for a targeted, invigorating massage. Every system we supply is built around hydrotherapy, and we believe in the benefits it provides. The system works by drawing water from the bath, propelling it with a powerful pump, and then forcing it back into the bath through strategically placed jets. A power boost feature allows for an increased massage intensity.
What are the benefits?
These systems are ideal for deep tissue massage, easing muscle tension, aiding recovery after exercise, and stimulating circulation to promote restful sleep. To find out more, read our article on how whirlpool baths improve muscle recovery after workouts.
What to Consider:
- Number and Placement of Jets: We offer from 20 to 32 strategically placed jets. More jets can mean a more comprehensive massage.
- Flush Fitting and Adjustability: Our Koller's flush-fitting Flatline® brass jets are ergonomically designed for comfort. The body jets are directional, allowing you to customise your massage.
- Pump Flow Rate: We specify the pump to the system and bath size to give the best massage possible.
- Heaters & Displays: An inline heater continuously heats the recirculating water. We also offer a digital display for the perfect temperature.
Air Jet Systems (Air Spas)
Our air jet systems are designed for a softer, effervescent, and full-body experience. These systems blow warm air through 16 or 20 small jets located in the base of the bath, creating thousands of gentle, bubbling sensations. We specify these for our System 3 Whirlpool Spas.
What are the benefits?
They provide a soft, all-encompassing, and soothing massage, promoting full-body relaxation and a sense of weightlessness.
What to Consider:
- Number of Air Jets: Air baths usually feature a higher quantity of jets compared to water jet systems. See our range of 40 and 50+ Jet Whirlpool Spas.
- Type of Jet: Our 30+ Jet system with a hybrid jet can be both an Air Spa or a Hydrotherapy Jet.
- Speed Control: Our systems allow you to adjust the intensity of the bubbles.
